Ship “Sołdek” Steering Station
Product Code : C1-P529
It is the other wife of the steering wheel of the steamship “Sołdek”. This ship is currently a ship museum in Poland. It was purchased from the Stockholm Auction House Hamburg. It has been restored. A unique monument of marine technology, it is currently the only protected steam-powered ore-coal carrier in the world. It was the first prototype seagoing ship built in Poland after World War II. From the first hoisting of the flag in 1949 until the end of service in 1981, "Sołdek" made 1,479 voyages, transporting a total of over 3.5 million tons of coal and iron ore. It is a historic building with a unique welded and riveted hull, fortified deck, four holds, loading facilities, crew accommodation and a fully equipped engine room. Below its deck, the ship museum hides an exhibition arrangement based on modern media: "Sołdek and his times" lets you learn about Polish shipbuilding and maritime trade history in the second half of the 20th century. sıze 110x80x60 cm
